Plot
Jim Wilson (Robert Ryan), of the NYPD, has methods that are too violent. His superiors then transfer him to a mountainous region, where he meets a blind girl, sister of a murderer on the run. The ending is tragic. At the time the film, produced by John Houseman was a commercial flop, perhaps because it exalted atmosphere and psychology. Good reasons to see it again today. The beautiful score is by Bernard Herrmann.
